James Martin Manchester has been named one of the UK's best restaurants in the Sunday Times Top 100 Restaurants 2015.
One of only two Manchester city centre restaurants to make the prestigious rankings, James Martin Manchester also boasts the honour of being one of the least expensive restaurants on the list.. The typical cost of a three-course dinner, with half a bottle of house wine, coffee and service, comes in at £55 a head.
Based at Manchester235 casino in Deansgate, the restaurant is one of six in the north-west to be recognised by the Sunday Times, a huge achievement given that the restaurant only recently celebrated its second birthday.
Celebrity chef and face of BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen, James Martin is the driving force behind the successful restaurant team of 28, including head chef Douglas Crampton.
“Being included in the list comes as great news to me and the whole James Martin Manchester team, who have all worked so hard to make the restaurant the success it is," said James. "This accolade feels like the icing on the cake after so much hard work over the last two years.
“I would like to thank all the locals and customers who have travelled to experience what we do and who have supported us over the last two years. I would also like to thank Doug and the whole team for the commitment and talent front and back of house. Well done!
“On a personal note, being included in the Top 100 is an honour because it is list voted for by the customers which makes it really special.”
Manchester235 casino venue director Austin Graham said: “We’ve always been proud to offer the people of Manchester one of the very best dining experiences within our casino.
"To be able to say we now have one of the UK’s Top 100 restaurants is hugely exciting. It goes to show that when it comes to bringing a touch of Vegas to Manchester - offering the best entertainment, best dining experience and best night out - there’s no better bet than Manchester235.”
