Sportsman restaurant and Head Chef honoured at Asian Curry Awards

Mumbai-born Avadhoot Kamat has stamped his personality firmly on our award-winning Zaman restaurant, and thoroughly impressed the critics in the process.

Within months of taking the helm at Zaman, not only was Av named Asian Chef of the Year at the 8th Asian Curry Awards, but he also clinched the Best International Restaurant title at the same ceremony.

Av studied his craft in Goa before returning to Mumbai to complete his training at the five-star Orchid Hotel. He honed his skills at top establishments in London, including the Metropolitan Hotel and Crown Aspinalls Casino where he curated the Indian section of the menu as well as specialising in European cuisine. He has also worked at Michelin-starred Benares and the world-class French brasserie L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon.

Now Av has brought all his experience to Zaman at The Sportsman Casino, where his exciting influence on the menu is clear. His sensational signature Zafrani lamb shank features alongside a diverse range of dishes showcasing world cuisine and guaranteed to please the restaurant’s international clientele.
